Accord V6 Supercharger Installation Instructions

All components have been designed and manufactured utilizing the latest in technology and materials. Please take a moment to read this instruction manual and warranty information page thoroughly before starting any work. Comptech recommends the use of a Genuine 1998-2002 “Honda Accord Service Manual” and the Genuine 1998-2002 Honda Accord V6 Supplemental Service Manual to supplement these instructions. All Comptech products are intended to be installed by a professional installer. Many stock parts are reused during installation.

The Comptech Supercharger comes complete with all parts shown in parts drawing. Please take a minute before starting installation and recheck parts in box match “Supercharger Check List” provided in kit. Each blower kit is checked twice for completeness before leaving Comptech, but in case something was not included, please notify us before starting installation.

Honda uses two types of alternators (Delphi & Denso) on the Accord V6. These have different shaft lengths. The drive pulley supplied in your kit is designed to fit the shorter of the two shafts; there is an optional spacer included in each kit that may need to be used for the longer shafts. This spacer will go between new pulley & nut to ensure proper thread engagement & zero slop on drive pulley for alternator models with longer shaft.

The Honda Civic Range 2005~

it’s a Honda Civic 4 door powered by IMA. Originally launched in our award winning Insight, … other Civic or any other Honda….The Honda Civic Range 2005 These specification details do not apply to any particular product which is supplied or offered for sale. The manufacturers reserve the right to vary their specifications, including colours, with or without notice and at such times in such manner as they think fit. Major as well as minor changes may be involved. Every effort, however, is made to ensure the accuracy of the particulars contained in this brochure.

The Civic is every inch a car of today. But it’s ancestry stretches all the way back to the first ever Honda: a full-blooded sports car, the Honda S600. Whatever the mechanical equivalent of DNA is, it has passed on family traits to the Civic. Front and rear bumpers support aerodynamic performance, and give the Civic a sleek, stylish profile. Side skirts both enhance its looks and reduce road noise. And of course the rear….

How much of your driving time is actually spent going nowhere? Waiting at lights, sitting in traffic – whatever happened to the open road? More to the point, whatever happens to all that energy? Your car doesn’t stop burning fuel when you’re standing still. Unless of course, it’s a Honda Civic 4 door powered by IMA. Originally launched in our award winning Insight, IMA provided revolutionary technology within a compact coupĂ©.

Honda Odyssey Road Tests
At the time most pe-ople movers were based upon commercial variants in a manufacturers range and the vehicle from a distance looked more like a delivery van with windows. Move forward to the present time and look at the new Honda Odyssey. A purpose built vehicle that since its initial release in 1996 has been constantly improved and refined. DISLIKES Centre sash only seat belt for second row seats Slightly awkward to use auto shifter Low height of rear hatch COMFORT The front seats are soft and comfortable although support falls away somewhat under hard cornering especially in the shoulder area.

The second rows are similarly comfortable with adequate legroom. The third row has a more upright seating position, not ideal for longer trips but still comfortable enough for adults. ERGONOMICS The driving position is closer to a normal passenger car or wagon in that it is lower than the previous high perched positions of the older generation people movers. Smaller drivers will notice the front of the Odyssey drops away quite sharply making parking slightly more difficult. The instrument binnacle has some of the most modern in design gauges going around, lit in Honda’s blue hues.

Audio controls on the steering wheel are simple to use as are the large, easy to identify controls for heating and radio centrally located on the dash. The Odyssey has a under dash foot operated handbrake, it is simple to operate and increases space around the drivers seat. The centre console is hinged and can be swung out of the way to make access to the second row of seats easier. Smaller items rattle around inside the console when flipped down, which is somewhat distracting.

SAFETY The new Odyssey benefits from the latest thinking on occupant safety by providing a crash compatible body that can withstand collisions from any direction, reducing occupant injury and providing a passenger survival space. Honda’s safety strategy is not limited to the occupants inside the Odyssey . Engineers have designed the vehicle to minimise aggressive impact to other vehicles.

The front row seats have three point, load limiter equipped, pre-tensioner seat belts. The centre seat in the second row has only a sash type seatbelt; Honda falls behind its competitors in this important area.

MSD Enhancer Ignition for the Honda TRX400EX

This increased spark energy allows the use of richer fuel mixtures or even exotic fuel such as alcohol. The MSD Ignition will put out approximately 30,000 volts to the spark plug.
MSD Enhancer Ignition for the Honda TRX400EX~TECHNICAL INFORMATION Spark Output: The Enhancer Ignition System for the Honda 400EX produces a high output spark that is approximately double the stock spark output.

Spark Plugs: With the MSD Enhancer, it is recommended to use as cold a spark plug as possible while still being able to start the engine easily. The spark plug gap will largely depend on the compression of the engine. The higher the compression the smaller the plug gap you must run. A good rule of thumb for the spark plug gap is between .032” and .036”. Taking the time to test with different gaps will give you the best gap for your application.

MSD Coil and Spark Plug Wires: The MSD Coil features low resistance (0.2 Ohms Primary, 2K Ohms Secondary) with a turns ratio of 70:1 for maximum spark voltage and energy. The 8.5mm Super Conductor Spark Plug Wires are very low resistance (less than 50 Ohms per foot) for maximum voltage carrying capabilites. Even with this low resistance, the wire still suppresses EMI (Electro Magnetic Interference) from disrupting the electronics of the ignition. This is the only wire recommended to be used with the MSD Enhancer Ignition System.

Adjustable Ignition Timing Curve: The MSD Enhancer Ignition system allows you to program an ignition timing curve. Changes in altitude, compression, fuel octane or a number of other variables requires that the ignition timing be compensated. The Enhancer allows you to advance or retard the initial timing as well as designate a different timing curve to increase overall power and performance.

Holeshot Feature: The MSD Enhancer Ignition has a special built-in circuit that sets a low rpm limit. This rpm limit produces consistent and quick starts. This allows you to concentrate on the start of the race instead of throttle position.

1. Carefully removed stock timing belt according to instructions in factory manual. Rotate crankshaft to TDC position and remove stock timing gears and camshaft keys. Completely remove stock timing gear dust guard behind the gears (do not reinstall).
2. Install new factory OEM keys on to the camshafts. Slide the timing gear disc in alignment with the camshaft keys, completely on to shafts, install and torque the pulley bolt aid washer to the end of the shaft, to factory specifications. See Assembly Clawing.
3. Race timing gear pulleys on to timing gear disc and align the key way center mark on the timing gear disc with the zero mark on the timing gear pulley. Fas- ten the gear pulley to the gear disc with the 12 -1/4 SHCS and washers (six on each timing gear). Torque the SHCS evenly. See Figure 1.0
4. Align the TDC marks between the exhaust and intake timing gears and insure the “UP” arrow is faring upwards. See Figure 1.0
5. Install the timing belt tightly in the sequence shown in Figure 2.0. (1)-timing belt drive pulley (crankshaft) to (2) - Adjustment pulley to (3) - Water pump pulley to (4) - Intake camshaft pulley to (5) - Exhaust camshaft pulley.
6. Loosen and retighten the adjusting bolt to tension the belt. Rotate the crank-shaft about 3 to 5 turns counterclockwise so that the belt positions on the pulleys.
7. Check the crankshaft pulley and the camshaft pulleys are at TDC position (See Figures 1.0 & 3.0)
8. If a camshaft pulley is not positioned at TDC, remove the timing belt and adjust the positoning. Insure TDC positioning of camshaft and crank pulleys and reinstall the timing belt. Adjust the timing belt tension according to factory specifications.
9.0 Torque the SHCS securing the timing gear pulley to the timing gear disc evenly. (SHCS must be torqued equally to insure non-slip operation)
10.0 Start vehicle in stock timing adjustment mode (zero adjustment) to insure proper operation of vehicle. To adjust power curve, be sure to baseline the vehicle at no adjustment. Loosen SHCS and make adjustment- Re-torque SHCS. Test vehicle at different timing mark adjustments at a proper vehicle testing facility.
