Holding a bracket in place as shown on the driver's side hood, mark the center of the lower hole using a permanent marker. You may need a friend to hold up the hood higher than the stock prop rod allows to gain access. The ball-stud should face outward or away from vehicle - bottom edge will contact the hood's hinge bracket, and the back of the bracket should rest against the hood's understructure lip as shown to the right. With the bracket in place , insert the multi-grip rivet through the bracket and hole with the long stem sticking outward. The rivet may require a few twists while firmly pushing it in.
